SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––The provincial government received on Tuesday at least 22 doses of COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by American firm Moderna and allotted for seafarers.

Provincial health officials said the vaccine would be administered on a “first-come, first-serve basis” due to limited supply, as it encouraged eligible seafarers to register at its office.

The Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) has requested the national government to distribute the Moderna vaccine supply to major vaccination sites in the country, to benefit a sizable number of seafarers.

On Sunday, at least 319,200 doses of Moderna vaccine procured by the national government arrived in the country.
