GENERAL SANTOS CITY—Five unidentified armed men abducted a banana plantation worker here as he was heading for work on Thursday, the police said on Friday.
SPO1 Luminog Masahod, investigator of the Tinagacan police station, said Mohammad Manampad, 24, a resident of Barangay Batomelong, was riding a motorcycle driven by Norodin Magunao when abducted by the armed men riding in a van that had no license plates.
Magunao later told police that the van blocked their way, forcing them to stop. The men, armed with M-16 rifles, beat Manampad with wooden clubs before whisking him to the van, he said. Aquiles Zonio, Inquirer Mindanao
