SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — A negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test result is again required from visitors aged below 18 and above 65 who intend to engage in exercises or sports activities inside the free port, an official said on Monday (Aug. 16).
In a statement, Wilma Eisma, chair and administrator of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), said the restriction covers those coming from areas under general community quarantine(GCQ) and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ). GCQ and MGCQ are the two least restrictive quarantine classifications in the country.
She said the restriction remains effective starting August 16 pending changes or clarification from the regional task force.
On August 5, the SBMA also temporarily banned the entry of its returning residents and other individuals coming from areas under the strictest quarantine classifications.
But the SBMA said the temporary policy would exempt those who are involved in essential travels, those seeking medical treatment, and authorized persons outside residence or APORs.
