Newborn, toddlers among 200 new COVID-19 cases in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales For two consecutive days, this province reported more than 100 COVID-19 cases daily, local health data showed.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said 104 new cases were recorded on Monday, August 16, while 109 cases were added on Sunday, August 15, pushing the total number of active cases to 636.

Among the fresh infections were a newborn baby and four toddlers aged 1-5. The other new cases were 21 senior citizens aged 60-93.

Also infected are middle-aged patients who are Army soldiers, teachers, policemen, and government workers.

The province has registered 5,066 COVID-19 cases since last year. At least 4,291 of these have recovered while 139 died. INQ
