LEGAZPI CITY — An alleged notorious illegal drug peddler was caught on Monday night selling P340,000 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in a police drug sting in Guinobatan town in Albay province, a police report said.
Arrested was Edgar Apellado Jr., 36, a high-value target (HVT) illegal drug pusher and resident of Barangay San Rafael, according to Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police.
The suspect was arrested while selling a plastic bag containing 50 grams of shabu to an undercover agent along the road in Barangay Maipon at around 6:30 p.m.
Police investigators said the suspect was considered as a PWUD (person who uses drugs) then later became a drug pusher and became a drug surrenderee at the height of the government’s war on drugs.
The suspect then became a drug courier in the provinces of Albay and Sorsogon, getting his deliveries from several illegal drug suppliers from Metro Manila.
The suspect is under police custody and is facing charges for possession and trading of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
