Alleged drug pusher caught with P340,000 worth of ‘shabu’ in Albay sting
LEGAZPI CITY — An alleged notorious illegal drug peddler was caught on Monday night selling P340,000 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in a police drug sting in Guinobatan town in Albay province, a police report said.
Arrested was Edgar Apellado Jr., 36, a high-value target (HVT) illegal drug pusher and resident of Barangay San Rafael, according to Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police.
The suspect was arrested while selling a plastic bag containing 50 grams of shabu to an undercover agent along the road in Barangay Maipon at around 6:30 p.m.
Police investigators said the suspect was considered as a PWUD (person who uses drugs) then later became a drug pusher and became a drug surrenderee at the height of the government’s war on drugs.
The suspect then became a drug courier in the provinces of Albay and Sorsogon, getting his deliveries from several illegal drug suppliers from Metro Manila.
