Close to 1,000 inmates in Bicol jails given jab vs COVID-19

Almost a thousand inmates in different facilities of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Bicol region have been inoculated against COVID-19, the agency said.

LIGAO CITY — Almost a thousand inmates in different facilities of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Bicol region have been inoculated against COVID-19, the agency said.

Jail Officer 2 Ruthie De Quiros Manuel, public information officer of BJMP Bicol, said Monday that 969 inmates in various jails in Bicol received their first dose of the vaccine.

In Albay, Tabaco City District Jail’s 358 (333 male and 25 female) persons deprived of liberty received first dose of Sinovac vaccine administered by health personnel of Tabaco City Health Office.

More inmates were also inoculated in jails in Ligao City (94), Daraga (7), Legazpi City (271) and Sto. Domingo (5).

In Masbate province, 21 inmates were vaccinated in San Jacinto and 31 were inoculated in Cataingan.

In Sorsogon, 75 were vaccinated in Sorsogon City jail.

In Camarines Norte, five received their first dose of the vaccine in Daet jail.

In Camarines Sur, some 102 inmates were inoculated in Tigaon jail.
