OLONGAPO CITY–The number of active cases among the personnel of the Philippine National Police in Central Luzon climbed to 153 on Monday (Aug. 16) with 13 new infections recorded that day, local virus data showed.
According to the health service of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), the new cases raised to 2, 131 its total number of infections since last year.
But seven more patients were also cleared from the viral disease on the same day, pushing to 1,973 its total number of recoveries.
On Sunday, the PRO3 logged 44 new COVID-19 cases, which was among its highest single-day records in recent weeks.
No new COVID-19 fatalities were added to the PRO3’s virus data on Monday and in the past weeks. Its death toll remained at five.
