Security guard shot dead in Leyte

Two drug suspects were killed during a shootout with law enforcers to prevent the serving of a search of their homes in Cotabato province.

ORMOC CITY A security guard, who was driving a motorcycle, was shot dead by still unidentified assailants along the national highway in Barangay San Roque, Tolosa town in Leyte over the weekend.

Pedro Tangpuz, 54, was on his way home with his live-in partner and two children when the assailants onboard another motorcycle shot him around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 15, said Police Lt. Steve John Abasola, chief of the Tolosa Police Station.

His live-in partner and two children were safe.

Recovered from the crime scene were five empty shells of caliber .45 in the area.

The local police are conducting a thorough investigation on the killing.
