MANILA, Philippines — Over 3.2 million qualified Metro Manila residents affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) have already received cash assistance worth P1,000,  from the government, Malacañang said Monday.

This is 29.31 percent of the 11.2 million target beneficiaries in the region, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said, citing data from the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

Local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila began distributing the aid worth P1,000 per person and a maximum of P4,000 per family last August 11.
