LPA near Tuguegarao to disperse in next 24 hours — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) off Tuguegarao is expected to dissipate in the next 24 hours but will continue to bring cloudy weather and rain over Cagayan Valley, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Sunday.

In Pagasa’s latest weather advisory, weather specialist Ana Clauren said the LPA was last spotted 155 kilometers southeast of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience generally fair weather in the next 24 hours as the LPA weakens.

“Ngunit pagsapit ng hapon at gabi ay mataas ang tiyansa ng pulo pulong pag-ulan at pagkidlat at pagkulog dulot ng localized thunderstorms,” said Clauren.

(In the afternoon and evening there is a high chance of rain, lightning, and thunder caused by localized thunderstorms.)

Meanwhile, fair weather will also prevail in the entire Visayas and Mindanao with scattered rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening.
