MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – The capital city of Pampanga province San Fernando recorded 105 new COVID-19 cases in a single day, bringing its active cases to 939, the city government disclosed on Saturday (August 14).

From August 1 to 14, the city recorded 784 new cases, a trend the city government described as an unprecedented here and a major cause for concern.

Saying the surge is possibly being caused by the Delta variant, the city government has advised residents to use double face masks or N95 masks when they go outside of their residences.
