ANGELES CITY – Some 64,794 residents here have received full doses of COVID-19 vaccines, the city government announced on Friday, August 13.
The city government said the fully inoculated individuals include 6,436 health workers and medical front liners under the A1 priority group, 22,571 elderly under A2, 20,583 persons with comorbidities under A3, 15,150 frontline personnel in essential sectors under A4, and 54 indigents under the A5 category.
Those who are fully vaccinated include the 16,639 recipients of Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose Janssen vaccine.
The city government said some 109,857 residents received their first doses of Sinovac, AstraZeneca, or Pfizer vaccines. These include 9,391 persons under A1, 26,712 under A2, 32,986 under A3, 35,962 under A4, and 4,824 under the A5 priority group.
Aside from the city’s two vaccination sites, staff of two buses serving as mobile clinics also conduct home vaccination on bedridden, elderly, and persons with disabilities.
On August 11, the city initiated its “Ronda Bakuna” program and dispatched a mobile clinic to Virgen Delos Remedios village where some 994 residents there were inoculated. The village has the least number of COVID-19 cases in this city with only two active cases, one death, and 23 total cases since last year.
This city recorded 52 new cases, 20 recoveries, and three deaths on Friday. The fatalities were residents of Pulung Cacutud, San Jose, and Santo Domingo villages.
It registered a total of 8,050 COVID-19 cases since the onset of the pandemic last year. Of these, 6,955 have recovered, 350 have died, and 745 remain as active cases.
Santo Domingo village has the most active cases at 78, followed by Balibago village with 68, and Malabanias village with 45 active cases.
