TUGUEGARAO CITY—A 26-year-old worker of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) became the latest COVID-19 case in the island province of Batanes, officials said on Friday, Aug. 13.

The Batanes government said the patient came from Tuguegarao City and arrived in Basco town on Tuesday. His infection was confirmed through a real-time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test.

The DPWH worker, the 15th COVID-19 case in Batanes, has been quarantined in a government-designated facility. INQ
