The controversial mega vaccination center built by tycoon Enrique Razon Jr. on a vacant lot of the Nayong Pilipino Foundation in Parañaque City was opened to the public on Thursday.

The national government allocated 50,000 vaccine doses for its initial run, according to Christian Gonzalez, president of the International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) Foundation, which funded the P250-million vaccination site.

Gonzalez said they aim to administer 15,000 vaccinations a day and the facility, called Solaire ICTSI Foundation Inc. Vaccine Center, is open to anyone, regardless of their residence.

However, appointments should be booked through the Parañaque local government’s website (m.oneparanaque.info).

The facility has a drive-through vaccination facility for those who opt to receive their jabs in their vehicles.

National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief Carlito Galvez Jr. said the facility was patterned after drive-through systems in the United States.

Galvez assured the public there would be no vaccine supply problem because 22 million to 25 million doses are expected to arrive this month. —DEXTER CABALZA
