Over 16 percent of residents in Pampanga capital fully vaccinated vs COVID-19

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—The capital of Pampanga has 16.8 percent or 40,690 of its target population fully vaccinated, the city government announced Wednesday, Aug. 11.

The City of San Fernando’s Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit said 242,102 of 345,860 residents were targeted for vaccination.

Those fully vaccinated include 2,727 health workers, 16,616 elderly, 9,990 persons with comorbidities, and 12,357 essential sector workers.

The city government said 69,319 or 28.6 percent of the targets for vaccination had received first doses of Sinovac, AstraZeneca, and Pfizer vaccines.

San Fernando recorded 62 new COVID-19 cases, 18 recoveries, and a single death on Wednesday. The fatality was a resident of Dolores village.

It registered 6,632 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 5,683 have recovered, 210 have died, and 739 remain active cases.
