SUBIC, Zambales––This town’s Rural Health Unit (RHU) has limited the number of patients it would accommodate daily to curb the more transmissible Delta variant of COVID-19.
Dr. Nadj Ngilay, acting municipal health officer, said in a statement Wednesday that the center would accept a maximum of 100 patients every day.
But Ngilay said emergency cases would be attended to even if the daily quota had been met.
Other patients were asked to turn to the RHU’s telemedicine hotline or Facebook account for non-emergency consultations.
As of Wednesday, the town has 31 active COVID-19 patients and 31 suspected cases.
