PDEA forms task force to find ‘abducted’ anti-drug agent

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Thursday said it has formed a task force to find an anti-drug agent who was a suspected victim of abduction and has not been found since June 25.

PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva signed an agency order to form “Task Force Fesway,” composed of 24 intelligence and investigative team to fast track the search for Merton Fesway, a 38-year old native of Samoki, Bontoc, Mountain Province.

According to the initial investigation, Fesway was supposed to meet a confidential informant before his sudden disappearance on the eve of June 25.

Fesway was assigned to the PDEA Regional Office III Pampanga Provincial Office in Angeles, Pampanga.

“Hindi kami titigil sa paghahanap hanggang matagpuan namin si Fesway… Umaasa kami na siya ay ligtas at nasa mabuting kalagayan,” Villanueva said in a statement.

(We will not stop looking until we find Fesway…. We are hoping that he is safe and in good condition.)
