MANILA, Philippines — The intensive care utilization rate (ICUR) and COVID-19 average daily attack rate (ADAR) in the cities of Cebu, Imus, and Tuguegarao are at “critical” risk, OCTA Research reported Thursday.
The latest data from the independent monitoring group showed that Cebu City has 26.74 ADAR and 85 percent ICUR, Imus City has 26.24 ADAR and 86 percent ICUR, and Tuguegarao has 41.92 ADAR and 88 percent ICUR.
“Cebu City, Imus, and Tuguegarao are at a critical level in both ADAR and ICU occupancy. The reproduction number in the country is 1.41. The situation is more likely to get worse before it gets better,” OCTA Research fellow Guido David said over Twitter.

Meanwhile, the data also showed that Quezon City still has the highest number of new COVID-19 cases based on a seven-day average from August 5-11. The populous city had 467 average daily new cases in the said period.
It was followed by the cities of Manila, Cebu, Makati, and Davao.
According to the data, the COVID-19 reproduction number in Metro Manila is now 1.76. Reproduction number is the number of cases estimated to stem from one case. ADAR, on the other hand, is defined by OCTA Research as the number of new daily cases per 100,000 population from August 5-11.
The ICUR data mentioned in the report was as of August 10.
The country has 81,399 active cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday, including 12,021 new cases – the highest in four months.
