5 drug suspects yield marijuana in Lucena bust
LUCENA CITY––Five suspected marijuana pushers were arrested Wednesday and yielded a kilo of the cannabis plant in a buy-bust operation in this city.
Lucena police chief Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea reported Thursday that Ariel Hernandez, Hermie Masinag, Neil Ron Coladilla, Mar Jay Halili, and Reymark Masinag, all residents of the city, were “newly identified” pushers.
The police busted the suspects at 11:15 p.m. after they sold a pack of marijuana to an undercover cop, who posed as a drug user in Barangay Ibabang Talim.
Authorities said the marijuana inside six packages was worth about P360,000 in the street market.
Reformed drug users tipped the authorities about the suspects, who face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
