SUBIC BAY FREEPORT––A business process outsourcing (BPO) company in this free port initiated on Wednesday, Aug. 11, a vaccine program for its 280 employees as part of the government’s inoculation drive for essential workers or A4 priority.
In a statement, the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) said the mass vaccination of TeleEmpire Inc.’s employees was the second privately-initiated jab program here. It was held two weeks after the government launched its vaccination drive for A4, which was done inside this free port.
The SBMA said the project was held in partnership with the Department of Health, which assisted in vaccine access.
“I hope more companies in Subic would follow suit to have their employees vaccinated so that we all can have peace of mind while going about our businesses,” said Wilma Eisma, SBMA chair, and administrator.
The medical staff of the privately-owned ZMMG Coop Women’s and Children Hospital in Olongapo City administered the vaccination of TeleEmpire workers.
Charry Navarro, TeleEmpire administrative officer, said the first doses of Sinovac were administered to its workers.
“Everybody wants to be comfortable while working inside the office, that is why everybody is doing their share to keep themselves healthy and COVID-free,” TeleEmpire president and chief-executive officer Johannes Lin said in the same statement.
