MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — The government-owned Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) in the City of San Fernando will no longer accept walk-in patients due to its rising number of COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms, the management announced Tuesday, August 10.

In its post on Facebook, the JBLMGH asked for the public’s understanding.

The management said the JBLMGH is a tertiary level hospital that needs to take care of COVID-19 patients with severe and critical symptoms.

It advised COVID-19 patients with mild and moderate symptoms to go to primary and secondary level hospitals.

Higher-level means greater capacity to treat patients and more and better medical facilities.

On Monday, the JBLMGH closed its outpatient department due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

The management did not say how many COVID-19 patients are being treated in the regional hospital.
