Collapsed landslide barrier destroys gas station, 4 vehicles in La Union
LAOAG CITY—A landslide barrier in San Fernando City, La Union province, collapsed at dawn Wednesday, damaging a gas station and parked vehicles, authorities said.
Initial reports showed that heavy rains loosened the soil that caused the landslide barrier to crumble before hitting the nearby gas station on a diversion road in Barangay Sevilla around 3 a.m.
The San Fernando City disaster risk reduction and management office said at least three parked tricycles and a motorcycle had been destroyed due to the incident.
No casualties were reported.
