MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience rainy weather due to the combined forces of southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, and a low pressure area, the state weather service said on Tuesday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA located 280 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas.
The entire Mindanao, however, is expected to have fair weather, according to Pagasa.
“Sa kasalukuyan, patuloy pa ding nakakaapekto ang ating southwest monsoon sa Luzon at Kabisayaan,” weather specialist Meno Mendoza said. “Ang nasabing low pressure area sa kasalukuyan ay mababa ang tiyansa na maging bagyo.”
(Presently the southwest monsoon continues to affect Luzon and Visayas. The said low pressure area has a low chance of becoming a typhoon.)
Meanwhile, there are no gale warnings raised in any of the country’s sea waters on Monday, with all of the country’s sea waters expected to have a slight to moderate sea condition with 0.6 and 2.1 meter waves.
