11 percent of Olongapo population completes COVID-19 vaccine
OLONGAPO CITY—The local government in this city announced on Monday, Aug. 9, that it had administered complete doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 11 percent of its total eligible population.
The latest data released by the city information center show that 20,154 residents on the priority lists had been fully inoculated against COVID-19. Among them are 7,800 recipients of the single-shot Janssen vaccine of Johnson & Johnson.
The city has administered 37,234 COVID-19 vaccines, including the first doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca.
The city is still inoculating those belonging to the A2 (senior citizens) and A3 (adults with comorbidities).
Olongapo targets to vaccinate 182,000 or 70 percent of its 260,000-population to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.
