ANGELES CITY, Pampanga––The active COVID-19 cases in this city breached the 600-mark after recording 108 new ones on Sunday, Aug. 8.
Local virus data showed that the city’s active cases now stood at 622.
Three patients died, and 25 recovered in the city on the same day. The fatalities include two residents of Barangay Balibago and one of Lourdes Northwest.
Most of the new cases are in Balibago (15), Pulungbulu (14), Malabanias (12), Pulung Cacutud (12), and Margot (10).
A total of 7,768 COVID-19 cases had been registered here since the start of the pandemic last year. Of these, 6,808 have recovered, while 338 have died.
Balibago also has the most active cases at 62, followed by Santo Domingo with 60 and Pampang with 49.
Some residents have urged authorities to investigate the “e-sabong” (online cockfighting) betting stations all over the city for allegedly breaching health protocols.
