Ilocos Norte COVID-19 count: 254 new cases, 194 recoveries, 7 deaths
LAOAG CITY – The province of Ilocos Norte has recorded 254 new COVID-19 infections, along with 194 recoveries and 7 deaths on Sunday, data from the provincial government showed.
The latest figures brought the total number of active cases in the province to 4,173, the same data showed.
A total of 10,281 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Ilocos Norte since the pandemic broke out in March last year.
The bulk of the active cases in Ilocos Norte was traced to the capital city of Laoag, accounting for 25 percent. Batac City has the second most number of active cases at 608.
Both cities are currently under enhanced community quarantine, the strictest quarantine classification in the country, until Aug. 15.

Home isolation is no longer allowed, Ilocos Norte Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc. said.
