Pampanga capital’s active COVID-19 cases breach 600 mark

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – The active cases of COVID-19 in the city of San Fernando, the capital of Pampanga province, rose to 608 after 72 more cases were recorded on Saturday (August 7), the city government disclosed.

In its latest bulletin, the San Fernando government said it also recorded seven recoveries and a single death on the same day. The fatality was a resident of Barangay San Isidro.

The capital city had only 413 active cases on August 2. The numbers have continued to climb since then.

It registered a total of 6,429 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 5,613 have recovered while 208 have died.

Barangay San Agustin has the most active cases at 89, followed by Dolores with 86, and Calulut village with 52 active cases.

The three villages recorded 12, 11, and eight new cases, respectively, on Saturday.
