Mabalacat City logs 37 new COVID-19 cases, 7 deaths

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Thirty seven more residents here have contracted COVID-19 while seven others succumbed to the dreaded viral illness, the city government announced on Friday.

The latest fatalities are residents of Barangay Atlu Bola (1), San Francisco (3), Santa Inez (1) and Tabun (2).

This city has 358 active cases as of Friday. Barangay Dau has the most active cases at 84, followed by Barangay Mabiga with 54, and Barangay Tabun with 45.

FEATURED STORIES

A total of 4,524 COVID-19 cases were recorded here since the pandemic broke out last year.

A total of 4,031 have since recovered while 135 others have died.

Meanwhile, the City Treasurer’s Office here has been closed since Thursday after some of its personnel tested positive for COVID-19.

The office’s employees were subjected to an antigen swab test on Friday. Results are still pending.
