Angeles City inoculates 4,714 residents in 1 day

ANGELES CITY – Some 4,714 residents here were vaccinated against COVID-19 in a whole-day “full-blast” inoculation activity, the city government said on Thursday, Aug. 5.

It said these include 3,198 persons who got the first dose of Sinovac’s CoronaVac vaccine and 1,492 individuals who received their second doses of CoronaVac and AstraZeneca vaccines at the City Colleges of Angeles and the Angeles City National High School here.

The number also includes 24 elderly recipients of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson Janssen via the city’s mobile clinic.

As of August 5, 51,465 residents here on the priority list have been fully inoculated against COVID-19, while 90,261 from the same category have received their first doses of the vaccines.

On Thursday, the city government here recorded 37 new COVID-19 cases, 14 recoveries and one death. The latest fatality was a resident of Barangay San Nicolas. The city’s active cases stood at 481.

Since the pandemic began last year, this city recorded a total of 7,570 COVID-19 cases. Of these, 6,755 have recovered, while 334 have died.
