COVID-19 forces closure of treasurer’s office in Mabalacat City

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — The treasurer’s office at the city hall here was closed on Thursday (Aug, 5) after some of its employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

While the city government here has yet to announce the temporary closure of the treasurer’s office, some city hall employees confirmed this to the Inquirer.

It was learned that all employees of the city treasurer’s office will be subjected to an antigen test on Friday.

This city registered 24 new COVID-19 cases and 22 recoveries on Tuesday. It currently has 314 active cases.

A total of 4,439 cases were recorded here since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 4,000 have recovered while 125 have died.
