9 more PNP personnel in Central Luzon test positive for COVID-19

COVID-19 kills 72; death toll now at 27,318 – DOH

OLONGAPO CITY—Nine more personnel of the Philippine National Police in Central Luzon have tested positive for COVID-19, local data showed on Thursday, Aug. 5.

The latest infections raised the active cases among the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) workforce to 88, health records show.

Three new recoveries related to the viral disease were also logged on the same day.

At least 1,982 PRO3 personnel had contracted COVID-19 since 2020, but 1,889 had recovered, the same data showed.

Its death toll still stood at five, with no additional fatalities recorded in the past weeks.
