COVID-19 cases in Olongapo breach 3,000-mark with 23 new patients
OLONGAPO CITY––The COVID-19 cases in this city surpassed the 3,000-mark as it registered 23 new infections Wednesday, Aug. 4, local health data showed.
The new cases pushed the infections in the city to 3,017 since last year.
Among the latest to test positive for the viral disease are two children aged 7 and 10 years old and two citizens who are 62 and 72 years old.
The city’s active cases rose to 191 while its recoveries climbed to 2,656.
Three deaths related to COVID-19 were recorded on the same day.
The fatalities aged 59 to 74 years old raised the city’s COVID-19 death toll to 170.
The local task force is also monitoring at least 76 suspected cases.
