Don’t endanger people, PNP warns anti-vaxxers

The PNP chief said the allegation that the government's war on drugs resulted in an increase of abusive policemen is “baseless, unfair.”

Philippine National Police chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar discouraged protests against the government’s plan to make inoculation against the novel coronavirus mandatory after receiving reports of “social media mobilization” by groups of people, including Christian organizations, that do not believe in COVID-19 vaccines. Eleazar did not identify the groups but noted that their plans to stage mass protests would endanger public health amid the threat of the more infectious Delta variant. “Your right to hold protest actions ends when the right of the most number of our kababayan to be safe from COVID-19 starts,” he added.
