NICA exec dangles P500,000-bounty for info on NPA rebels in Eastern Visayas

TACLOBAN CITY––A P500,000 bounty awaits each person who can provide information regarding two incidents staged by suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Eastern Visayas last week.

“All they have to do is call the police or the army,” said Eustacio Bacabac, regional director of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA).

He, however, said that any information would still be verified either by the police or the Army.

Last July 27, a police patrol car and a service vehicle of the City Health Office from Calbayog City in Samar survived an explosion and a series of gunfire from unidentified individuals while on their way to the Department of Health regional office in Palo town, Leyte, to pick up COVID-19 vaccines.

Two days later, unidentified men burned different heavy equipment in Las Navas town, Northern Samar.
