SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––At least 1,638 more residents in this province have been fully inoculated Tuesday against COVID-19, as health workers administered the new batches of vaccines it received from the national government.

The latest data from the local health office show that 881 of these vaccine recipients got the single-shot Janssen vaccine made by Johnson & Johnson, and 757 received the second dose of AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines.

Only four residents received the first dose of Sinovac and 84 of Astrazeneca vaccine on the same day.

The province has inoculated 39,286 priority residents, mostly health workers, senior citizens, and those with comorbidities. At least 34,842 of these are fully vaccinated, reflecting eight percent of the total eligible population.

Zambales aims to vaccinate 70 percent of its 590,800-population to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.
