MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – A one-year-old baby girl and a 94-year-old grandmother were among the 24 new COVID-19 cases in Tarlac, the provincial government disclosed on Tuesday, Aug 3.
It said the infant from Barangay Cristo Rey in Capas town developed mild symptoms and was swabbed on Monday.
The 94-year-old woman is a resident of Barangay Tablang in Paniqui town. She was swabbed after developing severe symptoms on July 29.
Tarlac also registered 103 recoveries and two deaths related to COVID-19 on Tuesday.
The fatalities include a 66-year-old man from Barangay San Miguel in Tarlac City and a 69-year-old man from Barangay San Francisco also in Tarlac City.
The province has recorded 9,208 total COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year, of which 472 remain active. A total of 8,324 have recovered from the viral disease while 412 have died.
Data showed that the capital Tarlac City has the most active cases at 190, followed by Capas with 60, and Bamban with 34 active cases.
