Fisher dead, another hurt in Masbate dynamite blast
LEGAZPI CITY—A fisherman died, and another was wounded when an improvised dynamite they were supposed to use exploded in Balud town in Masbate province on Tuesday morning.
Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of Bicol police, said while Aguido Gabriel, 23, and Hennil Laurio, 22, were fishing using a motor banca, bottled dynamite exploded before it was thrown into the school of fish in the seawaters off Barangay Ubo at around 10 a.m.
Calubaquib said Gabriel died and his body was recovered by other fishermen in the area.
Laurio was wounded and brought to Balud Municipal Hospital for treatment.
