MANILA, Philippines — Residents of Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon (Calabarzon) were advised to watch out for a thunderstorm on Tuesday morning, the state weather service said.
“Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Metro Manila, Quezon, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, within the next two hours,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in an 8 am advisory.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” Pagasa added.

The southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, continues to prevail in Metro Manila and several areas in Luzon, which is causing the rainy weather.
