MANILA, Philippines — The Manila City government on Monday said vaccination sites that will be open 24/7 will be launched in the city in the coming weeks.
Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said the local government is still waiting for volunteers and additional vaccines before the 24/7 rollout.
“Waiting for night shift volunteers and the vaccine will take advantage of ECQ (enhanced community quaranitine) status in the coming days,” Domagoso told reporters in a message thread.
The local government is looking for the following volunteers:
- Doctor
- Nurse
- Dentist
- Midwife
- Medical Technologist
- Pharmacist
- Other allied health professional
- College graduates or college students who are computer-literate
The local government said the service is pro bono but food provision will be supplied.
Domagoso said that as of Monday, a total of 2,923 volunteers applied via text, while 110 Sanggunian Kabataan (SK) officials have also shown a willingness to volunteer.

According to the local government’s latest available data, Manila has administered 1,368,389 vaccines, while 584,436 are fully vaccinated.
As of Monday, Manila has a total of 69,088 cases, including 697 active cases, 67,094 recoveries and 1,297 deaths.
Metro Manila mayors have requested additional vaccines during ECQ, as they vow to administer 250,000 vaccines daily within the two-week ECQ period, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
