41 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Pampanga capital
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––The province’s capital City of San Fernando reported on Sunday 41 new COVID-19 cases and one death.
In its latest bulletin, the city government said the fatality was a resident of Barangay Bulaon. The patient’s death has brought to 198 the number of residents who died from COVID-19 complications.
The city also recorded Sunday 11 new recoveries, bringing the number of persons who have recovered from the viral disease to 5,531.
San Fernando registered 6,151 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 422 remain active.
Barangay Dolores has the most active cases at 66, followed by Barangay San Agustin with 65, and Calulut village with 45.
The city’s epidemiology and surveillance unit reported on July 30 that 134 of the active cases contracted COVID-19 through “close contact” while 85 got the disease from their respective workplaces.
