MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Monday rejected the idea of conducting house-to-house COVID-19 vaccinations during the two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila.
DILG spokesperson Jonathan Malaya said the conduct of house-to-house COVID-19 vaccinations remain limited to bedridden residents.
“But hindi po feasible yung house-to-house,” he added.
“Isipin niyo po yung house-to-house vaccination na lahat ng ating medical frontliners ay pababahay bahayin natin sa isang kalsada, pa-isa isa, hindi po talaga yan viable. We only do house-to-house or home vaccination para po sa mga bedridden,” Malaya said in an interview with Teleradyo.

Some Metro Manila cities such as Manila, Taguig, Pasay and Muntinlupa have already been administering COVID-19 vaccines to bedridden residents at home.
Earlier, Metro Manila Council chairman and Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said they are eyeing house-to-house vaccination during the two-week ECQ from August 6 to 20.
At the same time, Metro Manila mayors are eyeing to administer as much as 250,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses daily during the said period.
