3 die from COVID-19 in 3 Pampanga cities; active cases now at 1,068
ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – This highly urbanized city and the two component cities of Pampanga registered three deaths and 1,068 active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases after recording 116 new cases and 82 recoveries on Saturday, July 31.
The city government here registered 45 new cases, 40 recoveries, and one death on Sunday. The latest fatality was a resident of Barangay Malabanias.
This city recorded 7,382 total cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 6,656 have recovered while 322 have died. It has 404 active cases.
In the adjacent Mabalacat City, 39 new cases and 21 recoveries were recorded. The city government said a resident of Barangay Lakandula had died from the viral disease, bringing the death toll to 123.
The city recorded 4,324 total cases since last year, of which 3,931 have recovered while 270 remain active.
San Fernando City registered 32 new cases and 21 recoveries. It has 394 active cases.
Article continues after this advertisementThe capital city recorded a total of 6,111 cases since the onset of the pandemic last year. Of these, 5,520 have recovered and 197 have died.

Meanwhile, the Pampanga provincial government’s July 31 bulletin showed that the entire province, excluding Angeles City, has a total of 2,155 active cases.
