SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least 29,957 residents in this province are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, health officials said Saturday.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said 2,101 of 3,155 residents who were vaccinated on Friday received the single dose Janssen vaccine of Johnson & Johnson.
Some 8,988 residents that were given the first dose of the AstraZeneca and Coronavac vaccine doses are still waiting to receive their second dose.
A total of 68,902 doses of vaccines have already been administered in the province (23,819 AstraZeneca, 37,693 Coronavac, and 7,390 Janssen)
The province needs to vaccinate 400,000 of its 590,800 residents to achieve herd immunity.
As of Saturday, the province recorded 4,266 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Of this number, 367 are still active, 3,783 are recoveries and 116 are deaths.
