MANILA, Philippines — Baguio City will not be accepting non-essential travelers or persons not authorized outside of residence (non-APOR) for one week starting Saturday, July 31.

This is in light of the additional quarantine restrictions enforced in Metro Manila, as well as a “pre-emptive response against the COVID-19 Delta variant.”

“We will not be allowing non-APORs to travel to Baguio, regardless of the place of origin.  Henceforth, Baguio will accept only travelers with indispensable purposes,” Baguio City’s public information office said.

“This arrangement will be tentatively in place for 1 week,” it added.

Metro Manila is currently placed under general community quarantine “subject to heightened restrictions with additional restrictions” until Aug. 5.

Starting Aug. 6 until Aug. 20, Metro Manila will then be placed under the most restrictive enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in a bid to curb the spread of the highly contagious COVID-19 Delta variant, which was first detected in India.
