MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA) consular and off-site passport service offices in Metro Manila will cease operations during the two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from Aug. 6 to Aug. 20.

In an advisory on Saturday, DFA said passport applications affected by the temporary closure will receive separate e-mail advisories on their new appointment schedule.

Meanwhile, applicants with appointments for apostille or authentication services at consular offices in Ali Mall in Cubao, quezon City, SM Manila, SM Megamall, and Metro Gaisano Alabang during the ECQ period will be accommodated at the DFA-Aseana Business Park in Parañaque City at their original dates and times of appointments.

The DFA added that its Aseana office will continue to accept applicants for passport and apostille or authentication services  with confirmed appointments from Aug. 6 to 20 but no walk-in applicants will be accepted.

Meanwhile, those with emergency and urgent medical travel needs may request for an appointment by emailing cl@dfa.gov.ph.

They should include copies of their current passport or a government-issued ID if new applicant, and proof of emergency travel, DFA said.

Meanwhile, those with urgent needs for apostille or authentication services on the other hand may send an email to authentication@dfa.gov.ph with copies of their documents to be apostilled or authenticated, and current passport or government-issued ID, and proof of emergency

Metro Manila will be placed under the strictest quarantine classification starting Aug. 6 until Aug. 20 after local chief executives appealed to the national government for stricter quarantine protocols amid the threat of the highly contagious COVID-19 Delta variant.
