PNP logs 106 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 106 more police officers have contracted COVID-19 with two more succumbing to the severe respiratory illness, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Saturday.

The new infections bring the total number of cases in the police force to 30,434, with 1,144 considered as active.

Meanwhile, 29,206 have recovered with 49 additional recoveries while the death toll rose to 84 with two new fatalities, the PNP said.

As of July 30, the Philippines has a total of1,580,824 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 61,920 active cases, 1,491,182 recoveries, and 27,722 deaths.
