25 Army troops in Himamaylan City test positive for COVID-19

BACOLOD CITY–At least 25 soldiers inside the 542 Engineering Battalion compound in Barangay Caradio-an, Himamaylan City, have tested positive for COVID-19.

Mayor Raymund Tongson said soldiers of the 16th Scout Ranger Company are quarantined at the 542 Engineering Battalion compound.

The soldiers, he said, came from Negros Oriental and had COVID-19 symptoms when they arrived.

The first case was detected on July 8. Upon contact tracing, the number reached 25.
