BACOLOD CITY––A couple, suffering from various ailments, was found dead at 10 a.m. Thursday in their house at Hermelinda Homes in Barangay Mansilingan in this city.

Police found the bodies of Rene Ateles Gargoles and his wife Jane, both 67 years old. The couple’s nephew, Ryan Mark, called the police attention.

Ryan Mark went to the couple’s house to bring breakfast. No one answered when he knocked on the door, prompting him to call for assistance from the police and Barangay Captain Rodolfo Pico.

When they managed to get inside the house, the policemen saw Jane’s body on her bed while Rene was found in another room lying beside a bed face down.

Members of their family said Jane was a cancer survivor while her husband had a kidney problem.

The couple’s relatives believed the couple died due to natural causes, said Capt. Elmer Bonilla, Police Station 8 chief.
