MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila has been placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) “subject to heightened and additional restrictions” starting Friday until Aug. 5, 2021, Malacañang said.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Friday that indoor dining and al fresco dining are prohibited under this classification.

Only take-out and delivery of food are allowed.

Meanwhile, personal care services and businesses, such as beauty parlors, salons, barbershops, and nail spas can operate up to 30% venue capacity.

Indoor sports courts and venues and indoor tourist attractions are not allowed to operate but outdoor tourist attractions can still operate at 30% capacity.

Metro Manila was previously placed under GCQ “with heightened restrictions” from Aug. 1 to 15 but this was opposed by Metro Manila mayors in a meeting with the government’s pandemic task force on Thursday.
